Honorable Mention Disguises of a Father and Son Steve Williams I imagine him bent over a topographical map moving plastic symbols with a sterile pointer. He is my hooded major-general. Under judicial robes, he wears soldier boots. I’m wearing sandals, his size, but those boots are carved for my sister’s feet. I engineer dream bridges on construction paper not sure, nor caring, who is winning. He sees a bridge as steel and asphalt asset. I hope it avoids the demolition squad. When I left, I took my piece off his map and twisted it into earth with my heretic shoe.
